Research

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation has had an active program of research for over 40 years. Currently, the Department has active collaborations with other departments at WSU, including Emergency Medicine, Radiology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Psychology, and Biomedical Engineering. The Department of PM&R also has active research collaborations with many other academic medical centers around the United States.

  • Neuropsychological sequelae of TBI
  • Psychometrics and Rasch analysis
  • Functional outcomes following TBI
  • Qualitative research methods
  • Health-related quality of life
  • Caregiver functioning
  • Development of symptom validity measures in cognitive assessment
  • Structural Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI): diffusion tensor imaging, susceptibility weighted imaging, and spectroscopy
