Biography
I grew up in Flint, Michigan, and completed my undergraduate education at University of Michigan-Flint where I received a B.S. in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. I then attended Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Rochester, MI. I completed a preliminary Internal Medicine year at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. I chose to come back to Michigan for my PM&R residency. I am happy to join the RIM family!
I chose to complete my training at RIM because of the diverse patient population and the complexity of cases that come with being the only in-patient rehab facility in downtown Detroit. The real selling point was the family atmosphere I felt when visiting RIM, talking with the residents, and getting to know the program director. I felt this was the program that was going to give me the tools to succeed in the future while also providing a tight knit environment.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am obsessed with everything to do with basketball, football, and soccer. I love board games and enjoy good competition. I also like relaxed afternoons, binging new TV shows, and exploring new food options in the area.
I am interested in returning back to school to pursue an MBA. In the future I would love to have an administrative role within healthcare/PM&R along with continuing my commitment to clinical practice. I am currently interested in Brain Injury Rehab, Stroke Rehab, Concussions, Cancer Rehab, and Pain Management.
