Dr. Rustom has been an integral part of the Detroit medical community since 2005. He pursued his undergraduate studies at Wayne State University and subsequently completed his medical education at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences, St. Kitts.

During medical school, he gained valuable experience by completing rotations across various locations nationwide, including Maine, Maryland, Wisconsin, and Georgia. Upon graduating, Dr. Rustom further honed his expertise as the Chief Resident in Physiatry at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan. His dedication to specialization led him to extend his training, and in 2017, he successfully completed the Anesthesiology Pain Medicine Fellowship at the Detroit Medical Center.

Currently, Dr. Rustom holds several distinguished roles, serving as faculty for the PM&R residency and primary care Sports Medicine Fellowship. Moreover, he acts as the associate program director for the Pain Management Fellowship. His passion for education and mentorship extends to guiding future medical doctors, residents, and fellows.

As a clinical Associate Professor at Wayne State University's School of Medicine, Dr. Rustom is committed to advancing medical knowledge and fostering growth in the medical community. His expertise lies in physical medicine and rehabilitation, with a particular focus on pain management. His clinical interests encompass a wide range of conditions, including lumbar/cervical spondylosis, spinal stenosis, CRPS, joint pain, peripheral neuropathy, post-surgical pain, failed knee and back syndrome, and chronic pain.

Dr. Rustom employs an interdisciplinary approach to pain management, collaborating with therapists, psychologists, and nutritional specialists to promote a lifestyle of well-being and freedom from pain. He is skilled in various types of injections, such as joint injections, epidurals, lumbar rhizotomy, minimally invasive spinal procedures, and neuromodulation (spinal cord/peripheral nerve stimulation). His preference for ultrasound/fluoroscopic techniques underscores his commitment to safe and effective procedural outcomes.

Actively engaged in the medical community, Dr. Rustom frequently participates in various medical societies, presenting cases of interest at local and regional conferences. His dedication to research-based practices is evident through his involvement with the Institutional Review Board at Wayne State University, overseeing research-related activities.

Dr. Rustom's deep connection to Detroit is further evidenced by the birth of all three of his children in the city. Outside of his medical endeavors, he finds enjoyment in outdoor activities and actively participates in his children's school and extracurricular activities and sports
